so, fund.
Backing the next generation of ideas in sport, movement and community.
The So, Fund exists to back people with ideas capable of getting communities moving.
Whether you're building a run club, creating a new sporting experience, developing a community programme, launching an initiative for young people, making movement more accessible, or have an entirely new idea for the future of sport - we want to hear it
up to £5000
You don't need to be a large organisation.
You don't need a huge following.
And you don't need a 20-page business plan.
You need a strong idea, a clear reason for creating it and a plan for what funding could help you achieve.
Applications close 5 October 2026.
How the grant works
Up to £5000
The So, Fund has £5,000 available to award across multiple ideas in sport, movement and community.
We know not every idea needs £5,000 to make an impact. One project might need £500 to get started, while another might need £1,500 to take its next step.
Tell us what you need, what you need it for and what it could help you make happen.
MERIT-BASED
Good ideas deserve a fair shot.
Every application is reviewed against the same clear criteria. We’ll consider the strength of your idea, the potential impact, how achievable it is and how effectively the funding could be used.
We’re not looking for the biggest organisation, the largest following or the most polished application. We’re looking for ideas with the potential to make a difference.

No. The So, Fund is open to both new ideas and existing projects.
You might already be building something and need funding to take it further, or you might have an idea you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to bring to life.
What matters most is that you can clearly explain your idea, why it matters and what the funding would help you achieve.
-
Not at all. While So, Run started with running, So, Fund is about something much bigger. We’re looking for ideas across sport, movement and community.
Your idea could involve football, tennis, cycling, fitness, wellness, dance, a new sporting experience, a community programme, or something that brings sport together with culture, music, fashion, entertainment or creativity.
If your idea gets people moving, creates opportunities, strengthens communities or approaches sport and movement in a new way, we want to hear it.
