TERMS AND CONDITIONS
SO, RUN TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of so-run.com (the “Website”) and your interactions and transactions with So, Run, including applications to So, Fund, purchases of event tickets, purchases of physical products and purchases of digital products.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Website, submitting an application or making a purchase.
By making a purchase, registering for an event, submitting an application to So, Fund or otherwise entering into an agreement with us, you agree to the applicable provisions of these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
1. ABOUT SO, RUN
SO, RUN. CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales.
Throughout these Terms, “So, Run”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to SO, RUN. CIC.
Registered company name: SO, RUN. CIC
Company number: 16468545
Registered office: 86–90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE
Email:info@so-run.com
So, Run is a community-led sports platform operating across sport, movement, culture, entertainment and experiences.
2. USING OUR WEBSITE
You may use the Website only for lawful purposes.
You must not knowingly misuse the Website, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce malicious technology or use the Website in a way that could damage So, Run or another person.
We aim to ensure that information published on the Website is accurate and up to date. However, information may occasionally contain errors or become outdated.
We may update, remove, suspend or change Website content, products, programmes, events, prices or other information where reasonably necessary.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen under an existing contract.
3. PRICES AND PAYMENTS
Unless stated otherwise, prices displayed by So, Run are in pounds sterling (GBP).
Any applicable delivery charges or other mandatory charges will be communicated before a customer completes their purchase where required.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply to their services.
We reserve the right to correct genuine and obvious pricing or listing errors.
Where an order cannot reasonably be fulfilled because of an obvious pricing error, stock error or similar genuine mistake, we may cancel the affected order and refund amounts paid for the affected product.
4. ABOUT SO, FUND
So, Fund is a community funding initiative operated by So, Run.
It exists to back ideas across sport, movement and community, including ideas that create opportunities, encourage participation, strengthen communities or approach sport and movement in new ways.
So, Fund is a private, non-governmental funding initiative.
The initiative is self-funded through application fees, which contribute towards the funding pot, the administration and operation of So, Fund and So, Run’s wider community activities.
5. THE FUNDING POT
For the current So, Fund funding round, a guaranteed total funding pot of £5,000 is available.
The £5,000 represents the total amount available to be awarded across the funding round. It does not mean that every successful applicant will receive £5,000.
Funding may be:
awarded to one applicant;
divided between multiple successful applicants; or
awarded in different amounts to different successful applicants.
There is no minimum amount that an applicant must request.
An applicant may request any amount up to the full £5,000 funding pot.
A single applicant may receive the full £5,000 where the judging panel determines that this is appropriate.
The judging panel may also offer an applicant less funding than the amount originally requested.
Where a lower amount is offered, the applicant may decide whether to accept the funding offered.
The full £5,000 funding pot will be allocated through the applicable funding round.
6. ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application.
Applicants do not need to be based in the United Kingdom unless a particular funding round expressly states otherwise.
Applications may be submitted by or on behalf of:
individuals;
informal community groups;
run clubs;
sports clubs;
coaches;
creators;
Community Interest Companies;
charities;
businesses;
early-stage organisations; and
other groups or organisations that So, Run considers eligible.
Applicants do not need to have already launched their idea, established an organisation or begun delivering the proposed project.
Both new ideas and existing projects may be considered.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they are legally permitted to receive and use any funding awarded in the country or jurisdiction in which their project will operate.
7. EXCLUDED APPLICATIONS
So, Fund will not knowingly provide funding for projects or activities that:
involve or promote unlawful activity;
promote discrimination, hatred, harassment or violence;
primarily involve political campaigning or party-political activity;
primarily involve religious proselytising;
promote or facilitate gambling;
primarily promote alcohol, illegal drugs or unlawful controlled substances;
involve fraudulent or deceptive activity;
are submitted primarily for the applicant’s personal financial benefit without a genuine sport, movement or community purpose; or
otherwise conflict with the purpose, values or lawful operation of So, Fund.
So, Run may reject an application where it reasonably determines that the project falls within an excluded category.
8. APPLICATION FEE
The application fee for the current So, Fund round is £20 per application.
The fee contributes towards:
the So, Fund funding pot;
administering and operating So, Fund; and
So, Run’s wider community activities.
Payment of the application fee does not guarantee funding, progression to any particular stage or a successful application.
Each application requires a separate £20 application fee.
Applicants may submit more than one different idea, provided a separate application and application fee are submitted for each idea.
Different individuals connected to the same organisation may also submit different eligible projects.
9. REFUNDS AND WITHDRAWALS
Once a completed application has been submitted, the £20 application fee is non-refundable, including where:
the applicant is unsuccessful;
the applicant later withdraws their application; or
the application is disqualified because it breaches these Terms,
except where a refund is required by applicable law.
If an applicant makes payment but does not complete or submit their application, the application fee will ordinarily remain payable because So, Run may have incurred costs in making and administering the application opportunity. This does not affect any cancellation, refund or other rights that the applicant may have under applicable law.
Applicants should therefore ensure they intend to complete an application before paying the application fee.
10. APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applications for the current funding round close at:
23:59 UK time on 5 October 2026.
Applications received after the deadline may not be considered.
So, Run may extend the application deadline where reasonably necessary.
Any extension will be communicated through the Website and/or relevant So, Run communication channels.
Extending the deadline does not itself create an entitlement to a refund.
11. ASSESSMENT AND SELECTION
Applications will be assessed by representatives of So, Run together with independent judges.
Funding is awarded based on an assessment of the applications received and is not determined through a random draw, lottery or public vote.
So, Run is not required to publish internal scores, scoring systems, judges’ notes, deliberations or detailed assessment methodology.
So, Run may contact an applicant to request clarification, supporting information or additional details where reasonably necessary to assess an application.
Applicants are not guaranteed an opportunity to supplement or amend their application after the deadline.
12. FUNDING DECISIONS
The judging panel may determine:
which applicants receive funding;
how many applicants receive funding;
the amount awarded to each successful applicant; and
whether an applicant should be offered less than the amount requested.
Funding decisions are final, except where So, Run identifies a material administrative error affecting the assessment process.
Being shortlisted, contacted for additional information or progressing through any stage of assessment does not guarantee funding.
So, Run is not required to provide individual feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
13. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
So, Run intends to identify and contact successful applicants within two weeks of the application deadline, although reasonable delays may occur where additional assessment, verification or clarification is required.
Only successful applicants are guaranteed to be contacted regarding the outcome.
Successful applicants may be required to provide reasonable information necessary to verify their identity, eligibility and payment details before funding is released.
If a successful applicant does not respond within a reasonable period specified by So, Run, provides materially inaccurate information or cannot demonstrate eligibility, So, Run may withdraw the offer and reallocate the relevant funding.
14. USE OF FUNDING
Funding must be used substantially for the project, idea or purpose described in the successful application.
If a recipient wishes to make a material change to how the funding will be used, they should obtain written approval from So, Run before making that change.
Funding must not be used for unlawful purposes or any activity excluded under these Terms.
So, Run does not currently impose a standard deadline by which awarded funding must be spent unless a specific condition is agreed with the recipient.
Recipients are responsible for any tax, reporting, licensing, regulatory or other obligations arising from receiving or using the funding.
15. SUCCESSFUL RECIPIENT CONTENT
Successful recipients will be asked to provide a short video acknowledging receipt of the funding and explaining how they intend to use it.
Successful recipients also agree that So, Run may publicly announce reasonable information concerning the award, including:
the recipient’s name;
project or organisation name;
amount awarded; and
a brief description of the funded idea or project.
Depending on the project, So, Run may invite recipients to participate in reasonable follow-up content such as photographs, videos, interviews, testimonials or case studies showing the development or impact of the funded project.
The nature and extent of additional content participation will be considered on a case-by-case basis and, where appropriate, agreed with the recipient.
16. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN APPLICATIONS
Applicants retain ownership of their original ideas and intellectual property.
Submitting an application does not transfer ownership of the applicant’s idea to So, Run.
However, by submitting an application, the applicant gives So, Run permission to review, reproduce internally and share relevant application information with authorised judges, assessors and service providers where reasonably necessary to administer and assess So, Fund.
Successful applicants also permit So, Run to use reasonable information about their project and award for the publicity and case-study purposes described in these Terms.
Applicants must ensure that the material submitted in their application is their own or that they have permission to use it.
17. FALSE OR INELIGIBLE APPLICATIONS
So, Run may reject or disqualify an application where there are reasonable grounds to believe that it:
contains materially false or misleading information;
contains plagiarised or unauthorised material;
involves fraud or attempted fraud;
breaches these Terms;
involves abusive, threatening or inappropriate conduct;
is ineligible;
attempts to improperly manipulate the assessment process; or
otherwise compromises the integrity of So, Fund.
Where funding has already been awarded on the basis of materially fraudulent or deliberately false information, So, Run may take reasonable steps to recover the affected funding where legally permitted.
18. CANCELLATION OF A SO, FUND ROUND
So, Run may cancel a funding round where there is a genuine and reasonable need to do so, including circumstances outside So, Run’s reasonable control or circumstances that prevent the round from being administered fairly or lawfully.
If So, Run cancels an entire funding round before funding is awarded, affected valid applications will ordinarily be transferred automatically to the next available So, Fund funding round.
Affected applicants will also be given the opportunity to request a refund of their application fee instead of transferring their application, subject to any applicable instructions and reasonable deadline communicated by So, Run.
Nothing in this section affects rights available under applicable law.
19. EVENT BOOKINGS
So, Run organises and participates in running, sporting, community, cultural and other events and experiences.
Tickets may be sold directly by So, Run or through third-party ticketing platforms.
Where a third-party platform is used, that platform’s applicable terms may also apply to the transaction.
The event description, ticket page, participant information and any event-specific rules communicated before purchase or participation also form part of the applicable event terms.
20. EVENT TICKET REFUNDS
Unless otherwise stated for a particular event, So, Run event tickets are sold on a non-refundable basis where legally permitted.
A customer deciding that they no longer wish to attend does not automatically entitle them to a refund.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or other remedy that a customer is entitled to under applicable law.
21. TICKET TRANSFERS AND RESALE
Where permitted for the relevant event, ticket holders may transfer their ticket to another eligible participant.
So, Run may require the attendee information to be updated before the event.
Tickets must not be commercially resold, resold above their original face value or used for unauthorised commercial promotions.
So, Run may cancel tickets that it reasonably believes have been acquired or resold in breach of this provision, subject to applicable law.
22. POSTPONED OR RESCHEDULED EVENTS
If an event is postponed or rescheduled, the original ticket will normally remain valid for the rescheduled event.
So, Run will communicate relevant information concerning the new date or arrangements as soon as reasonably practicable.
Where applicable law gives a ticket holder additional rights because of a material change to the event, those rights will not be affected by these Terms.
23. EVENT CANCELLATION
If So, Run cancels an event, we may first offer ticket holders a transfer to the rescheduled event or an appropriate replacement event.
Where the event cannot be provided as contracted and applicable law entitles the customer to a refund, So, Run will provide the refund or other remedy required by law.
These Terms do not permit So, Run to retain a customer's payment where doing so would be unlawful or unfair.
24. WEATHER AND OUTDOOR EVENTS
Running and sporting events may take place outdoors and may proceed in rain or other adverse weather conditions.
Poor weather alone does not automatically entitle a participant to a refund where the event continues safely and substantially as planned.
So, Run may change, postpone, shorten, alter or cancel an event where reasonably necessary because of severe weather, safety concerns, instructions from authorities, venue requirements or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Participant safety will take priority when these decisions are made.
25. PARTICIPANT HEALTH AND SAFETY
Participants in running, sporting or physical activities are responsible for considering whether they are physically capable of participating.
Participants must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by So, Run, event staff, venues, officials and authorised partners.
Anyone with concerns about their ability to participate should obtain appropriate professional advice before taking part.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful for So, Run to do so.
26. AGE REQUIREMENTS
Age requirements may vary between events.
The applicable minimum age, parental/guardian requirements or other age restrictions will be stated in the relevant event information where applicable.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they satisfy the requirements of the event they enter.
27. CONDUCT AT EVENTS
So, Run is committed to creating safe, inclusive and respectful experiences.
We may refuse entry to or remove a person from an event where there are reasonable grounds relating to:
unsafe behaviour;
violence or threats;
harassment;
discriminatory or hateful conduct;
serious disruption;
intoxication creating a safety risk;
deliberate failure to follow reasonable safety instructions; or
other serious inappropriate behaviour.
Where removal results from the participant’s own serious misconduct, they will not normally be entitled to a refund, subject to applicable law.
28. EVENT-SPECIFIC RULES
Rules concerning matters such as dogs, bicycles, headphones, pushchairs, bags, route requirements, equipment, start times and other participation requirements will be determined event by event.
Participants must comply with the specific rules communicated for the event they attend.
29. PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING
Photography and filming may take place at So, Run events.
General photographs and footage of events, crowds and activities may be used by So, Run for legitimate promotional, editorial, community and marketing purposes where legally permitted.
Where specific consent is legally required for a particular use, So, Run will seek that consent.
Participants with particular concerns regarding photography or filming should contact So, Run or speak with an appropriate member of the event team where reasonably practicable.
30. PRODUCTS
So, Run may sell clothing, accessories and other merchandise through the Website and other authorised sales channels.
We make reasonable efforts to display products accurately. However, colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on screens, photography and manufacturing variations.
Product availability is subject to stock.
31. ORDER ACCEPTANCE
Submitting an order does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
We may decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
an item is unavailable;
there has been an obvious pricing or description error;
payment cannot be authorised;
we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity; or
we cannot deliver to the requested destination.
Where we cancel an order after payment has been taken and the customer is entitled to repayment, the relevant amount will be refunded.
32. DELIVERY
Our normal target dispatch period for physical products is approximately 1–2 weeks, unless otherwise stated on the product page or at checkout.
Delivery times after dispatch may vary depending on the destination and delivery provider.
We offer or may offer both UK and international delivery.
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or similar charges imposed by their country unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout.
We will provide any legally required delivery information before the customer is bound by the purchase.
33. RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
For eligible physical products purchased online, customers may request a return or exchange within 14 days, subject to applicable consumer rights.
To request a return or exchange, contact:
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the item unless So, Run agrees otherwise or applicable law requires us to bear the cost.
Items should be returned in a condition consistent with reasonable examination of the product. Where clothing has been worn beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect or try it, washed, damaged or otherwise handled in a way that reduces its value, this may affect the amount refundable where permitted by law.
Where possible, original tags and packaging should be retained.
This policy does not limit a customer’s statutory rights relating to faulty, damaged, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.
34. FAULTY OR INCORRECT PRODUCTS
Products supplied by So, Run must meet the standards required by applicable consumer law.
If a product is faulty, damaged, misdescribed or the wrong product has been supplied, please contact info@so-run.com.
Where legally required, So, Run will bear reasonable return costs and provide the appropriate repair, replacement, refund or other remedy.
Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights concerning faulty goods.
35. PROMOTIONS AND DISCOUNT CODES
Promotional codes and discounts may be subject to additional conditions communicated at the time of the promotion.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional codes:
cannot be exchanged for cash;
may have an expiry date;
may be restricted to particular products or customers; and
may not be used with another promotion.
We may withdraw or correct a promotion where there is a genuine error, fraud, misuse or another legitimate reason, provided doing so does not unlawfully remove rights already acquired by customers.
36. DIGITAL PRODUCTS
So, Run may sell digital products, including running programmes, training programmes, guides and other downloadable or electronically accessible content.
Digital products may become available immediately following successful payment.
The product page will describe the content and any technical or access requirements where appropriate.
37. IMMEDIATE DIGITAL ACCESS AND CANCELLATION
Where a customer purchases digital content for immediate supply, we will obtain any consent and acknowledgement required by applicable consumer law before access or downloading begins.
Where required, the customer will be asked to expressly agree that:
they wish So, Run to begin supplying the digital content immediately and understand that once supply begins, they may lose their statutory 14-day right to cancel.
Where the legally required consent or acknowledgement has not been obtained, the customer will retain any cancellation rights provided by applicable law.
38. DIGITAL PRODUCT LICENCE
Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing a So, Run digital product gives the customer a personal, limited and non-transferable right to use the product for their own lawful purposes.
Customers must not, without our permission:
reproduce the product for commercial purposes;
resell it;
distribute copies publicly;
upload it for unauthorised public access;
present So, Run material as their own; or
commercially exploit So, Run intellectual property.
39. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, the Website and So, Run-created content, including branding, logos, graphics, photographs, videos, written material, programme content and digital products, are owned by or licensed to So, Run.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of So, Run intellectual property to the user.
You may not reproduce or commercially exploit So, Run intellectual property without appropriate permission, except where permitted by law.
40. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, payment services, ticketing platforms, social-media services or other external platforms.
So, Run does not control every aspect of those third-party services and is not responsible for their independent content, availability or practices.
Users should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of third-party services they choose to use.
41. OUR RESPONSIBILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
So, Run is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant contract was entered into, subject always to rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where a person interacts with So, Run wholly or mainly for business purposes rather than as a consumer, additional limitations permitted by law may apply.
42. EVENTS AND INHERENT RISK
Sporting and physical activities can involve inherent risks.
Participants are expected to follow event instructions, use reasonable care and act responsibly.
Acceptance of the ordinary risks associated with voluntary sporting participation does not remove any responsibility that So, Run has under applicable law, including responsibilities relating to negligence where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
43. CIRCUMSTANCES OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL
So, Run will not be responsible for a failure or delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control to the extent permitted by law.
These may include severe weather, natural disasters, venue closures, transport disruption, government restrictions, public emergencies, infrastructure failures or similar events.
Where such circumstances affect a consumer contract, So, Run will act reasonably and provide any remedy required by applicable law.
44. PRIVACY
Personal information is handled in accordance with the So, Run Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
Additional privacy information may be provided at the point where particular information is collected.
45. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our activities, products, events, funding programmes, business practices or applicable requirements.
The latest version will be published on our Website with its most recent update date.
Changes will not retrospectively deprive customers or applicants of rights that have already arisen under an existing contract.
46. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
47. NO WAIVER
If So, Run does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not necessarily mean that we have waived the right to enforce it later.
48. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections available under the law applicable to you that cannot lawfully be excluded by these Terms.
Nothing in this section removes any right a consumer may have to bring proceedings in a court available to them under applicable law.
